SUPPORT FOR THE ‘ALWAYS ON’

You’re
the one
everyone
relies on.
But you’re exhausted.

Therapy for high-achieving professionals and athletes in Ontario, navigating burnout, pressure, and high-functioning anxiety through virtual psychotherapy.

You show up. You push through. You hold it all together.

From the outside, you look completely fine. But underneath, you may feel overwhelmed, stuck in your head, emotionally drained or constantly “on”.

You don’t have to hit rock bottom to deserve support or be sure about therapy to get started.

I offer virtual psychotherapy across Ontario for high-achieving professionals and athletes navigating burnout, anxiety, performance pressure, and major life transitions.

Modern living room with a light gray sofa, pillows, a beige throw blanket, round wooden coffee tables, potted plants, artwork on the wall, and large windows with curtains.

You might be here because…

You are capable, driven, and used to handling things on your own, but something isn’t working the way it used to.

  • You’re successful but constantly tired

  • Your mind doesn’t slow down

  • You feel responsible for everyone else

  • You overthink everything

  • You push through even when your body is telling you to stop

  • You don’t feel “bad enough” for therapy

  • You’ve been in survival mode for longer than you expected, and don’t see a way out

And maybe… you’re ready for something different.

How Therapy Can Support You

I offer virtual therapy in Ontario for high-achieving professionals and athletes navigating burnout, performance pressure, anxiety, and life transitions.

“You are more than your productivity”

— Naomi James

Hi, I’m Naomi,

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)

I specialize in working with high performers, including athletes and professionals who feel the pressure to always be “on”.

Many of my clients come in saying:

  • “I don’t know why I feel this way. I should be fine.”

  • “I’m doing everything right, but I’m exhausted.”

  • “I don’t want to fall apart before I ask for help.”

If that resonates, you’re exactly where you need to be.

I’m Naomi, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), and I support high-performing individuals who are tired of holding everything together and want to feel more like themselves again.

I care deeply about understanding your world, including your background, your experiences and what life has been like for you. I meet you with curiosity, care and respect for who you are, because no two stories are the same.

Together, we slow things down, make sense of what you’re carrying and build tools that fit your life, so you can feel more like yourself again, not just the person who keeps pushing through.

What clients notice overtime

Everyone’s journey looks different, and there is no “right way” therapy will unfold.

With that in mind, here are some things clients may begin to notice through our work together:

  • Feeling less stuck in overthinking and constant pressure

  • More awareness of their emotions and patterns

  • Stronger boundaries

  • More space to slow down without guilt

  • More clarity around what they need and what matters

  • Practical ways to manage pressure without constantly pushing through

  • Feeling less defined by what they achieve

Progress doesn’t happen all at once, and change can take time. This is why we move at your pace, with care and curiosity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all. Many of the people I work with are very capable, high-functioning adults who are simply tired of carrying it all on their own.

Therapy isn’t just for when things are falling apart. It can be a space to slow down, reflect, and make meaningful shifts before things start to feel unmanageable.

  • Think of the first session as a conversation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what’s been feeling heavy lately, and what you’re hoping to change.

There’s no pressure to have the right words or to know what’s going on.

We’ll work together, at your pace, to begin making sense of it.

  • Finding the right therapist matters. The relationship is a big part of where change happens.

That’s why I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work and decide if this is the right space for you.

There is no pressure to commit.

  • Everyone’s journey is different. Some clients come in with a specific focus and stay for a shorter period of time. Others choose longer-term support.

At the beginning, I usually recommend meeting consistently so we can get to know each other and understand what’s been weighing on you. This helps shape the direction of our work together.

From there, we check in regularly about your goals and what feels helpful, allowing us to adjust as needed. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. It changes as you do.

  • Most extended health benefit plans in Ontario provide coverage for services offered as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).

Coverage depends on your individual plan, so I recommend checking directly with your provider to confirm your specific benefits.

After each session, you’ll receive a receipt that you submit for reimbursement.

If you’re unsure what to ask your insurance company, I’d be happy to help guide you.

  • It if very common to feel this way, especially if you're someone who handles things on your own.

Many high-achieving people are used to pushing through, figuring things out independently, and being relied on by others. That strength often makes it harder to recognize when support might actually be helpful.

Therapy isn’t about whether you can handle things on your own. It’s about whether you have to.

You don’t need to be overwhelmed or falling apart to benefit from having a space that is just for you.
